NBA Role: two-way PG Hybrid

‘Money’ Mike Conley is probably THE best current player to never make the All-Star team; a Top DOG, Conley initiates the majority of Memphis’s action and is one of the savviest playmakers around; scientific, lefty stroke from downtown – drops hands when he’s feeling it – is complemented by off-hand floaters: Conley’s righty tear drop is rarely off the mark (when was the last time we’ve seen a PG w/ as good an off-hand?); quick dribbler – swerves back and forth, keeps it low; ‘fake-out’ PG: super crafty ball-handler, heavy feints; makes a lot of circus shots; perfect craftsmanship running the PnR w/ Marc Gasol; very good defender, can take opposing PGs out of the game; pretty complete point guard, though Conley needs to maintain maximum aggression after receiving superstar money*; can Mike stay healthy and lead MEM deep into the postseason?

*5 yr./$153 million extension in Summer ’16

Signature Shot: quick righty floater
