PORForward: 6’9, 210 lbs; 2nd year, Maryland

NBA Role: forward prospect • UnderDOG

The 1st game of Jake Layman’s illustrious, Hall of Fame career was amazing, as he set an NBA-record w/ 17 points in 6 minutes of action but let’s backtrack a bit…we’re getting ahead of ourselves; a sweet-shooting second round forward (whom the Blazers’ Twitter account always reminds us has ‘perfect hair’), Jake Layman could settle into an early role as one of Terry Stotts’s designated gunners off the bench; good athlete, can get out and fill the lane nicely; ok defender – can he consistently defend 3s (& 4s?); nice slasher potential – Layman can put the ball on the floor; to carve out early action, Jake needs to stretch the floor at SF and show some defensive intensity if he plays some small ball four*; per 36 GAWD

*Layman was a tough defender in college, though he needs to bulk up a bit (only 210) to (potentially) defend fours at this level – should learn a lot learning from “undersized” forwards Maurice Harkless & Al-Farouq Aminu

Signature Shot: 3-pointer

(*factory setting*) NBA 2K17 Rating: 68
