Profile:

PORForward: 6’9, 215 lbs; 8th year, Wake Forest

NBA Role: all-around forward • Star UnderDOG

Al-Farouq Aminu is finally reaping the rewards of countless hours in the gym; a hustle-guy turned hybrid forward, Aminu has adapted very well under Terry Stotts in PDX – earned a spot in Stotts’ Fav 5 through versatile defense* & (much) improved aggression offensively – slashes well, recently raised his 3-point percentage over 35%, which is a welcome sight; though Aminu has natural basketball ability, repetition has helped him improve; ridiculous motor combined with an endless wingspan – Aminu puts up double-doubles by moving without the ball on offense & snagging any board that comes near his area; ugly looking J but hey, it’s pretty money from the corner!; no longer an afterthought, POR is at its best when Aminu’s on the court – if his game continues to evolve, Portland could contend sooner rather than later

*often tasked to stop guys like Melo & Kawhi
