We have a (preseason) trade! Chicago & Milwaukee pulled off a deal to round out their lineup heading into 2016-17.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, CHI will send oft-criticized swingman Tony Snell in exchange for (uhh) oft-criticized PG Michael Carter Williams.

It’s a low-risk move for all parties involved – especially the Bulls, who are taking a flier on  a former Rookie of the Year in MCW. Though Fred Hoiberg’s starting backcourt is set w/ Rajon Rondo & Dwyane Wade, MCW is another big guard who can create shots & play multiple positions off the bench. And perhaps Carter-Williams will display more accuracy from beyond the arc in a contract year (one can only hope!).

As for Snell, his value could shoot up w/ more opportunity under Jason Kidd. Snell’s inconsistency is a glaring issue but Coach Kidd needs reinforcements on the perimeter to offset the loss of Khris Middleton (hamstring).

Carter-Williams, 25, has career averages of 14.5 points/game & 6.1 assists/game.

Snell, 24, has career averages of 5.3 points/game & 2.3 rebounds/game.
